Less than a week after the Democrats have won control of the Senate and the House, and already we're seeing lame-duck politics and a big shift in political power - perhaps even an over-correction to the left.

- President Bush is pushing the sitting Senate to confirm John Bolton as UN Ambassador, despite controversy that surrounds the appointment - and that he probably wouldn't be confirmed by the next Senate.
- Donald Rumsfeld, the Secretary of Defense, resigned after the election. Word on the street is that he did this so that President Bush could get his successor confirmed through a friendly Senate, as well.
- With the world welcoming the change, we're being promised a change in course in the war in Iraq (that's certainly a change!)
